Graph I: Vessel Traffic and Growth
Total vessel calls had increased by 6.1% in 2014 from 1,139 calls representing total gross tonnage (GRT) of 7,587,833 tonnes to 1,209 calls with GRT of 7,693,261 tonnes. Dry bulk vessel registered the highest number of vessels at 596 calls or 49.3% of the total vessel received.
GRAPH II: CONTAINER VOLUMES AND GROWTH
Container volumes reduced by 5.9% and did not meet the target growth of 2%. The drop was mainly due to an 8.9% decrease in transhipments. However, container exports increased by 18.8% attributable to increase demand of sawn timber stuffed into containers as a preferred mode of handling.
GRAPH III: Cargo Throughput and Growth (,000 tonnes)
In 2014, TMP handled 4,992,195 tonnes of cargo compared to 4,869,560 tonnes in 2013 which is an increase of 2.5%. The increase is mainly attributable to an increase in the import and export of liquid bulk, break bulk and dry bulk commodities. However, transshipment cargo volumes reduced, which is mainly due to the containerised cargo transhipments. The most noteworthy increases in commodities handled are as follows:
GRAPH IV: TURN ROUND TIME
The declining trend in vessel turnaround time indicates that TMP's ships operation is getting more efficient.
GRAPH V: CONTAINER MOVEMENT PER HOURS
Significant improvement was marked in the Operation Performance Indicator in 2014 as compared to the previous years. Summary of the Performance Indicators are as shown in the table below.
