TMP is an International Ship and Ports Facility Security compliant port by achieving ISPS Code compliance audit on 14th February, 2011. The OGC Jetty had also successfully passed the assessment and verification on 2ndOctober 2013, and it is now classified as ISPS Code Compliance. Security and safety aspects are therefore held vital at all levels of our port operations, and services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Adherence to the security and safety policies in place are monitored for all port staff and customers.
TMP’s commitment to health and safety is evident by its certification in OHSAS 18001:2007 on 20th July 2012. The Management regularly reviews Safety Policy and Objectives, Documentation Systems, Standard Operating Procedures and Emergency Response Plan to enhance the safety standard. Surveillance audit on OHSAS 18001:2007 were undertaken on 12th and 13th August 2014 of which TMP has passed the assessment indicating satisfactory level of compliance.
Consistent with the objective to cultivate and encourage quality initiatives in all areas and services of the port, TMP had continually upheld its quality programmes for adaptation of quality culture in the workplace. Thus, TMP has established documented and implemented Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with the requirements of QMS ISO 9001:2008. SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd has certified TMP’s “Provision of Cargo Handling Services” to be in compliance with MS ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System on 28th February 2014.
TMP has implemented the standard requirements of Quality Environment Management System since 14th of July, 2011. The certification also known as 5S is certified officially by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), usually a part of, and the key component of establishing a 'Visual Workplace' and are both a part of Kaizen - a system of continual improvement. The results we can expect from a 5S program are improved profitability, working efficiency, service and safety of everyone.
